Great website/app idea- where do I go from here?
I have this great idea for website that can be turned into an app too. I don't know how to develop it. But I have all the concepts and plans for it.
Questions:
Do I need to get my idea copyrighted before engaging any developer?
I need help to have a developer to develop it and funds to start it. Where can help on this? Will Magic be able to help? What kind of preparation should I plan ahead for my idea to be heard and considered by any agency?

With regards to your question on planning:

With regards to your questions on copyright, we'll forwarding this question to MyIPO to assist you.
In light of Copyright protection, generally, the Law does not give protection on mere ideas. This is due to anybody can come out with any ideas and no implementation is carried out, thereby we have no source of telling if the idea is fresh and new.
Hence, idea per se, is not protected.
Nevertheless, Copyright does give protection to real works such as books, paintings, websites and such.
Thereby, if you wish your website to be protected, it is in the best of your interest to write the plans in a manual, and get it protected by applying its registration in MyIPO.
Later, when the website itself has been developed, it can also be protected.
And of course, everything depends on the originality of the works.
Later, when the website itself has been developed, it can also be protected."
This seems to suggest that, I could already have the manual copyrighted before the website is developed? Will it be recognised internationally? How much does it cost and how long does it takes before I could hold the copyright title?
When I went into the link on Technical Bootcamp provided earlier, I was later directed to ALPS. Is ALPS part of Magic? As I could not see any info on Magic's site.
The web development apprenticeship program (named ALPS) is indeed one of the programs under MaGIC.
