Forwarding Enquiry: Idea of Entrepreneurship
I have a brilliant business idea involving breakfast food and the concept of a fun way to start your day. I won't get into the details but it excites me to see the trend of new restaurants and businesses for the past year and I feel like it is such a good time to venture into the food industry and do something out of the ordinary. Trust me, my idea is pretty extraordinary. However, I am way too young to be opening and managing my own "hipster" cafe and I do not have the proper resources to even start-up. I don't have the time or the money to invest in something so big. I did get the idea of maybe selling my business idea but I'm not sure if that is a thing. My Mom did tell me that I can ask you guys about it so I thought, why not?

Assalam and Good Afternoon,
Dear Sir,
In order to register IP for a product, there are two type of registration involved which namely Trademark and Industrial Design registration. A trade mark is a sign which distinguishes the goods and services of one trader from those of another. A mark includes words, logos, pictures names, letters, numbers or a combination of these.
Attached are the needed documents for trade mark application "-
- 5 copies of the completed TM5 with trade mark affixed to each copy
- 1 original copy of the statutory declaration with trade mark affixed to it
- the trade mark size must not exceed 10cm x 10 cm
- 1 copy of the Form 49/Form D/company detail from company registrar if the registration is made under company name
- 1 copy of priority date claim document (if necessary)
- 1 copy of certified transliteration and translation if the trade mark is in other than roman character form (if necessary)
- the payment is RM370.00/RM330.00 (online) per application, all payment can be made by cash/check/money order/bank draft to "Perbadanan Harta Intelek Malaysia"
** If the application been approved, Acceptance Letter (TM31) will be issued and applicant need to pay for RM650.00/RM600.00 (online) for gazette purposes. Protection for trade mark valid for 10 years and renewable for every 10 years.
Besides of that, you may also apply for industrial design registration for packaging of the product. An Industrial Design is the ornamental or aesthetic aspect of an article. The design may consist of three-dimensional features such as the shape and configuration of an article, or two-dimensional features such as the shape and configuration of an article, or two-dimensional features, such as pattern and ornamentation. The design features must be applied to an article by any industrial process or means of which the features in the finished article appeal to eye.
Step to apply Industrial Design
- Filing Form ID1 (Fee: RM500/480 (online) for single application and for next subsequent multi application RM500/480 (online) per appl.
- View of the representation in drawing or photography in one copy (Fee:RM200 (manual or online) for each view
- Filing SJAR - Statement Justifying Applicant's Right
- Statement of Novelty
-Submit the application to MyIPO or by online with cash/check/money order/bank draft to "Perbadanan Harta Intelek Malaysia"

Looking for Team Partner (Programmer / Web Developer)
Hi, All.
I’m Lui (chiaboon.lui@gmail.com) and I have been working on a start-up idea since late 2014.
I hope, thru MaGIC, i could reach out other like-minded individual or team and to explore the possibility of work together on the following start-up project.
My Background
I practiced chemical engineering for about 10 years. I left my job in early 2014 and since then I work on my own small project about student accommodation.
By practicing, I learn about the lean start-up, customer development methodology, Google Analytics, SEO, and some fundamental knowledge about growth hacking.
Brief About The Project.
The intention of the project is to facilitate the learning of college / university students and to foster quality learning resources.
From the view of business model, the above database could then be capitalized via several revenue models.
Current Challenges
After went through the Problem Interviews with college students, I gained some insights about their current behaviors and validated the “Problems” assumptions in my lean business canvas.
At this stage, a MVP is required to further test on the hypothesis of the solution. Therefore, I am searching for team partner(s) who:
1. Is a programmer / web developer with entrepreneur mindset, commitment and integrity.
2. Is financially independent.
3. Has practical knowledge on Python.
4. (Optional) Has some practical knowledge on git and github.
5. (Optional) Has some practical knowledge about google analytics, google tag manager, google webmaster tool.
I have the basic source code for the MVP and should be sufficient to develop the MVP.
Similar to most of the individual who works on his/her own start-up project, I have no budget for hiring but full commitment to push the project as much as I can before running out my resources.
I am open for any advice and recommendation on getting the right team, resources for this project.
